Women in Warehousing

On 21 June 2018, we worked with Coca-Cola Amatil and Rubicor Workforce to initiate a specialised pre-employment 'Women in Warehousing' program.

The program is designed to upskill women through theoretical and practical training and provide them with the skills and experience to enter a career within the Supply Chain and Logistics industry. Ten women were initially selected to participate in the program. Workskil Australia has provided the women training with a Certificate III in Warehousing and Logistics. Ten of the candidates completed their Forklift Licence on 6 July 2018. On Monday 16 July a selection of the women commenced eight weeks of paid work experience with Rubicor Workforce on-site at Coca-Cola Amatil, Eastern Creek.

Penny from Workskil Australia said “Rubicor Workforce and Coca-Cola Amatil prides itself in driving an upward trend to increase female talent into the non-traditional industry. Three women will be employed by Rubicor Workforce to work on assignment at Coca-Cola Amatil, Eastern Creek, as forklift drivers, initially doing twenty hours a week, as an outcome of this program. The additional five will continue their work experience for the next four weeks and will also look forward to potential opportunities in and across the business. The management team at Coca-Cola Amatil are working closely with Workskil and Rubicor to make this program a success.”

Rubicor Workforce is really excited about this program. Rubicor looks forward to commencing three new recruits - Aleisha, Bindi and Cynthia - on Monday 13 August. Dianna Pino, Rubicor Workforce’s Account Manager, said "the program has really developed diversity and increased opportunity for women and parents re-entering the workforce."
