Carly's Story

When Carly* first met with Workskil Australia in July 2015, she had been unemployed for over six years. A mature-aged worker, Carly reported that she tried very hard to find full time work, including completing a Certificate III in Warehousing, but that despite her best efforts she had been unsuccessful so far.

It was evident to Carly’s employment consultant, and all of the staff at Workskil Australia Cabramatta, that Carly was dedicated to working and unafraid to take on new challenges. The Cabramatta team introduced Carly to Workskil Australia Regional Account Manager Dara, who speaks with a large volume of employers each day, to help Carly to find a new opportunity.

Dara immediately began searching for opportunities for Carly using her extensive contacts. Dara arranged a meeting for Carly with a pharmaceutical company. Carly impressed the employer and with the help of a Restart wage subsidy, started paid employment as a warehouse assistant.

At the time of publishing, Carly and her employer are still in regular contact with Workskil Australia’s post-placement support team, and by all accounts it seems that Carly is settling into her role well. Carly tells us she is very happy in her employment and considers the job a ‘perfect fit’ for her needs. She hopes to work in the role for years to come. We wish you all the best, Carly!
