Employee Value Proposition
We are proud to be an organisation that is recognised as being
honest, flexible, ethical and passionate. The fact that we do the
right thing by our clients, staff and community and will do
whatever it takes to keep them satisfied, are two of the ways we
stand out from the rest. Our people are at the heart of this -
leading the way in innovation and client experience. We strive to
create a climate that encourages our people to achieve their best -
personally and professionally.
Healthy Work Life Balance
At Workskil, we recognise that work is just one element of our
employees' lives and so we offer a range of options to help manage
work, home and family commitments.
In addition to the general leave benefits such as annual and
sick leave, some of the options available are:
- Part time work
- Flexible working hours
- Access to leave without pay
- Paid paternity leave
- Paid bereavement leave
- Paid carer's leave
Salary Sacrificing
Workskil recognises the importance of attracting and retaining
the best people, so we offer innovative salary packages and
benefits. As a public benevolent institution, Workskil is able to
offer staff very attractive salary packaging options. Salary
packaging allows you to choose a combination of cash and benefits
to make up your salary. The ATO allows the packaging of a number of
benefits so that they are paid from your pre tax salary.
Through salary packaging you can pay some of your living
expenses from pre-tax dollars, and then pay tax only on the
remainder of the amount. This not only means you are paying for
some of your expenses from pre-tax dollars, but you are also
lowering your taxable income - effectively giving you an increase
in your disposable income.
Paid Day Off
Workskil provides all full-time employees with the choice of
accruing a paid day off every month. This allows employees some
flexibility in work practices to enable them to attend to personal
business. This has resulted in a happier and more productive
workforce.
Training and Development
One of our primary objectives is to sustain a culture of
performance - a culture enabling us to "raise the bar" and ensure
sustained business success in a rapidly changing and increasingly
competitive market. We are committed to giving our staff
opportunities to grow and realise their full potential and create
an environment of continuous performance improvement and personal
development.
All Workskil staff participate in a performance appraisal and
development planning process. This process enables staff to focus
on setting goals and clarifying expectations within the
organisation. In addition, this approach promotes a culture of
continuous improvement, supports individuals in meeting their
development goals and strengthens organisational capabilities.
We believe that through this commitment, which offers
challenging and rewarding career opportunities, we enhance our
reputation as an attractive employer.
Leadership Development
Workskil is an organisation where people are engaged, developed,
challenged and well rewarded for performance. We recognise the
importance of leadership at all levels of our organisation in order
to succeed in a challenging environment, and are committed to
providing practical processes and programs to identify, develop and
inspire all our current and future leaders.
Employee Assistance Programme
Workskil provides access to free and confidential short-term
independent counselling services to assist employees and their
families in dealing with work or personal issues.
