Family Centred Employment Project (FCEP)
Workskil delivers the Family Centred Employment Project (FCEP),
a Department of Education, Employment & Workplace Relations
(DEEWR) funded demonstration project that is aimed at assisting
jobless families residing in the Broadmeadows area in Victoria.
The FCEP commenced on 1st July 2010 and will run for the next
three years. It is one of only three projects delivered in
Australia, with the other two in South Australia and Queensland.
Workskil was selected after an intensive project proposal and
assessment by DEEWR - Workskil and DEEWR then worked together to
develop a detailed project plan to deliver the service to the
Broadmeadows community.
The objectives of the FCEP are to:
- Support the employment, education/training and social
participation of jobless families in the community by increasing
the capability of at least one individual within the context of
their family and community;
- Establish wrap around services and a no wrong door
approach to service delivery within the locations, for those
services associated with jobless families; and
- Identify, document and disseminate good practice behaviours and
principles in assisting the participation of jobless families,
including the establishment of wrap around and no wrong door
approaches to service delivery.
Addressing the needs of jobless families with children is a key
priority under the Government's Social Inclusion Agenda and
Workskil is delighted to have been selected as the organisation to
deliver the Family Centred Employment Project in Broadmeadows,
Victoria.
