David's appealing employment future

David and consultant Trudy

Workskil Australia has had the opportunity to work with some great mature aged clients, including David from Joondalup. David has engaged positively with his consultant Trudy on a weekly basis and through this engagement together, has been able to update his resume, learn interview techniques and secure interviews with suitable employers.

Workskil Australia also assisted with interview clothing and funded the renewal of David’s forklift licence. Although David has had a few health issues and had been out of the workforce for a few years, he was proactive in his job search and encouraged Trudy to put him forward to numerous roles, while also continuing his own job search.

While following up on an application, David was asked to come in for a work trial with the Spud Shed in Morley. David was given two hours’ notice and still managed to be there on time. This was a successful trial and David commenced ongoing casual employment with them in October 2018.

David now works at the new Midland Spud Shed, which opened in early November. Going from no employment for years to now working 10 hour shifts on a weekly basis, David has continued to update Trudy by popping into the office for a quick chat. Trudy is very happy to assist David and very proud of his efforts.

This is a fantastic example of a great relationship between customer and consultant. David says, “I have always felt supported by Workskil and Trudy has been very helpful in assisting me with renewing my Forklift licence when I urgently required this for employment. I enjoy popping into the office to update Trudy and the team at Joondalup on my progress. From not working for many years to now working and earning enough money to support my passion for fishing, I am in a good place.”
