Success for Rhonda in Western Australia

Workskil Australia - Success for Rhonda in Western Australia

Since opening the doors to 14 new offices in Western Australia in March, we have helped hundreds of job seekers find economic independence through work that is meaningful to them.

Here’s Rhonda from WA. She came to us with a goal of giving back to the community and helping others. But it hasn’t been plain sailing for Rhonda to find work. She had some medical conditions and limited school education which were significant barriers.

Through hard work, determination and some guidance and support from our friendly team, Rhonda took bridging classes at university and then completed a Cert IV in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice.

With new qualifications under her belt, we helped Rhonda secure a job with Ruah Community Services. She is now delivering primary health care to people with mental health conditions, and truly contributing to the community.

Emma Jarvis, Executive Manager of Operations at Ruah said: “We are thrilled to have Rhonda on the team! Thanks to the support from Workskil Australia, more people like Rhonda are realising their potential every day, and we are a stronger organisation for it. Ruah prides itself on maximising individual potential of everyone we work with and we are excited to see all that Rhonda will achieve in her new role.”

Rhonda has overcome major barriers to achieve her ambitions and we have been so happy to share this journey with her. But our support doesn’t end there; one of our Indigenous Mentors is assisting Rhonda as she settles into her new role, and keeping in regular contact for six months.

Congratulations Rhonda!
