ParentsNext is ending on 31 October 2024. A new service to support parents, called Parent Pathways, will commence from 1 November 2024. You can learn more about Parent Pathways on the Department for Education and Workplace Relations website.
ParentsNext is a free pre-employment program that helps parents and guardians of young children to build skills and confidence and prepare for the workforce.
We will first work with you to address any challenges or concerns within your immediate family so you can then focus on your future.
Our dedicated Career and Family Consultants can assist you to identify areas of interest and set career goals. They can also support you in building skills and gaining qualifications.
Services are tailored to meet your needs and support you in overcoming personal barriers. We’ll help you become ready to find work or enter further education when the time is right.
We understand that your family and children are the top priority, so ParentsNext is flexible and delivered around your schedule and family’s needs. Through ParentsNext, we can help with the following:
Identify goals, explore career options and employment opportunities for you and your immediate family
Find and apply for training or courses that align with your career and family goals
Develop practical skills and complete work experience to prepare for the future
Access referrals to relevant community services for you and your family
Access counselling, support services and financial aid for medical appointments and medicines for you and your children
Complete driving lessons and gain support in achieving your licence
Receive funds for work clothing, training, study and other essentials
Connect with emergency accommodation providers
Connect with childcare providers while completing study or training
ParentsNext is available to Victorian parents and guardians who are referred by Services Australia - Centrelink and meet the following criteria:
Parents and guardians without a referral can still access ParentsNext through direct registration. Contact Workskil Australia and we can confirm eligibility and get you started on this worthwhile program.
Appointments are conducted face-to-face or virtually via phone or video conference.
Our offices are warm and inviting, with toys, books, and games to entertain children while you complete your appointment. Alternatively, appointments can be conducted out in the community at a location convenient to you.
Our Consultants are thoughtful and understanding and always handle appointments with care.
