Workskil Australia has partnered with the Restaurant Catering Industry Association of Australia, the peak sector association, to place 500 young people into Hospitality careers nationally.
Young people aged 17-24 complete a micro credential, which includes Food Handling, Responsible Service of Alcohol, and Preparing and Presenting Food, in order to prepare them to participate in a 4-week supported Internship (through the Youth Jobs PaTH Program), with a host employer, that has committed jobs (including Apprenticeships and Traineeships).
Young people receive pre and post placement mentoring, transport assistance, fully funded uniforms, PPE and any work tools required.
Employers receive motivated young people interested in a long-term career, ongoing post placement support, some financial assistance to host the intern and wage subsidy assistance to train and employ ongoing (subject to various eligibilities).
The program launched in June 2021 and is operating in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and Queensland.
